Visa Requirements

Medical Considerations
All visitors should ensure that they have fully comprehensive medical insurance prior to commencing their journey. Additionally they should:
Consult with their own medical practitioner regarding anti malaria precautions, particularly if their intention is to travel to any of the game parks in the North and North East of the country or in other countries in Africa.
Pack appropriate medication for existing conditions such as asthma, diabetes or any known allergies.
What you should bring with you
(although the shops provide an extensive range of all suggested items at competitive prices)
Golf shoes and standard attire for golf courses, i.e. collared shirts, golf dress shorts and short socks or golf casual trousers . Light rain proof jacket for use in need.
Golf clubs can be easily hired but most players prefer their own!
Head covering for hot days – whether playing golf or not
A warm jumper and/or wind proof light jacket for the cooler evenings
Comfortable walking shoes and/or trainers
Light and comfortable day clothing and smart casual for evening wear in restaurants and hotels – generally the dress code is quite relaxed
Sunglasses and sun screen (the sun can be quite fierce) – also light long sleeved tops for those who are susceptible to the suns rays.
Personal insect repellents
Please note that SA customs regulations restrict the importation of food stuffs and certain natural products that may impact the local environment. You are strongly advised not to contravene their regulations.
Foreign Exchange
The local currency is South African Rand (ZAR) but most major credit cards are readily accepted and there are international ATMs in all major centres. Exchange facilities are available in all banks. If using exchange bureaux, verify their charges before entering into the transaction.
www.xe.com
Local exchange control laws require visitors to declare any hard currency that they are carrying at the time of entry.
Bartering is not routine practice in high street shops or malls but does occur in street markets at the discretion of the trader.
